Work / Our card shop
We split the daily running of our card shop
between our staff and the systems we built.
We supply trading cards to businesses and individuals by quotation based on quantity. Alongside Japanese-edition products, we handle limited Simplified Chinese edition PSA10 cards, and the shop is published in Japanese, English, and Chinese. Our systems collect market prices and draft the product pages and market reports. A person decides what to buy in and how it ships.
01
What we built it for
The subject is the stock of our own trading card shop and its market prices. The same card carries a different price depending on its condition and the set it came from. Price checks, product pages, and market reports fall behind as the number of cards grows, so we moved those steps into a system.
02
Each task has a fixed owner
Collecting and watching market prices
Every morning we collect third-party completed-sale prices, refresh the market-price page, and draft the market report from those figures. We follow prices all day and notify the person in charge as soon as a card meets our criteria.
The ledger and the product pages
Cards we buy go into the ledger, and product descriptions use the same terminology in Japanese, English, and Chinese. A person checks each one before it goes live.
Inquiries and bookkeeping
We sort incoming inquiries by type and prepare a draft reply and a quotation. The same flow books each transaction and totals the previous day's receipts and payments.
03
Where it stands now
Every morning
We refresh the market-price page and the market report, and write up the previous day's receipts and payments as a daily report.
Same day
We have the product copy and the draft replies and quotations ready.
Rule
Two cards count as the same card only when the card number, the set, the language, and the artwork all match.
04
The actual screens
These are screens we use in the shop every day. The language on each screen matches the one shown on this page.
